Some basic statistics

The EFRP conducts an annual statistical survey on private vehicles operating supplementary pension arrangements accessed through paid work.

Whereas EFRP Member Associations collect the data (own survey or national available data from supervisory or statistical national agency), the EFRP Secretariat collates and ensures consistency of the gathered data.

As from 2004 our survey is reflecting the fact of EU-enlargement adding however to the diversity of the European pension landscape, which also means complexity. A distinction is made between mandatory and voluntary pension arrangements:

- mandatory schemes linked to paid work are defined as supplementary pension arrangements for which the "product characteristics" are set in the national social and labour law

- voluntary schemes linked to paid work are defined as supplementary pension arrangements for which the "product characteristics" are negotiated by social partners or at company level within a legally defined framework.

2004 - 2005 data

Please note that the final results of the 2005 survey are expected for May 2007 and will include data on Germany and Switzeland and extra data on mandatory schemes in Europe.
